Good cause through my chapatis❤️🙏🏾Pt#2

This chapati making for a great cause has been a rose so far 🌹.  People have supported effortless and willingness to be a part of this movement, which is humbling. Repeated customers and new customers have come through not once but twice. With this traction, chapatis for a good cause is extended another 30 days, May 28th.

A returning customer placed an order of 40 chapatis.  At first, the individual was apologetic because they thought they had not given me enough notice. I assured her this was plenty of time to get her order ready by Friday between 4.30-5pm. The first time this individual placed the chapatis order, her feedback was,Can I order 40 for pick up Friday 19th around 430/5p?” I don’t think I mentioned pole, that we really enjoyed them. Asante sana😋.

An order of 15 chapatis was placed two weeks ago and told me to bring them wuth where we were meeting. The mix-up with this order was Mimi Waruguru, only made 10 chapatis!?..10 chapatis😐🤔😃. When I met up with this individual, I told them here are your 10 chapatis. The person looked at me atii 10 ikumi tu!. I told you 15. I told the person there must have been a mix-up because I told you 15. I  told the individual we are off to great start because this means you will come back again 😂😂. The individual laughed, too. Honestly, I told the individual I heard 10 and not 15. This was a learning moment to get chapati orders texted, too, and not rely on phone call conversation. The other thing is holding myself accountable while owning up my mistakes. This time, maybe my customer was understanding the situation while in another encounter it may not be perceived positively!.

Another customer placed an order of 20 chapatis. This individual said, “My teenager child will pick up the chapatis, and I will add another $20 dollars to support this cause. The generosity with people is mammoth.  The feedback from this individual was that chapo was good.. we enjoyed it. Love the way you make and package them.

A new customer had been informed that Mimi Waruguru sends out community messages.  If you want to start receiving the community messages, let Mimi Waruguru know to add you to her listing. This individual reached out and requested to be added to the community group. First, I was confused about the group,  what group, and a group I have 😊🫤🤔!?. I told this individual I have no group to add people. What I have is a database of peoples phone numbers, and these individuals choose to receive all kinds of communication messages that I send out. I told this individual these community text messages that I share out people have agreed to receive all kinds of messages. I politely warned the individual that some weeks and/or months can be heavy based on the messages shared and happenings in the community. This individual said I am open to receiving the community messages, and please add my number to your database.

After the community messages conversation, I shared my chapatis flyer.  Instantly, this individual responded, “Good to know you make chapatis. This is my first time ordering. Can I order 15 chapatis.

Feedback after picking up the chapatis was, “You are welcome, and we loved them, sana. I was asked next time I get the different color, brown chapatis 😊😂.

Before I decided to make chapatis for a good cause, this next individual had seen my tiktok video, which I had posted on my WhatsApp status. This was March 28th. The individual texted My fren….you make it loook easy oooo. Ebu, cook for me those 15 I come for them tomorrow. I know i will like them🥰. This feedback in itself was affirmative, knowing this individual has never eaten my chapatis. I made the chapatis per individual request. This in itself was obedience. Can our obedience make us good stewards when others request us to do something for them?.

When this individual showed up to pick the chapatis, I had prepared my signature githeri dish 😂. Yes, my signature githeri. In this dish, I add fresh garlic paste, homemade beef broth, and fresh herbs basil. I offered the individual to taste my signature githeri with a chapati. This individual was more than appreciative of the warm hospitality.

I am a firm believer that when people show up in your home, offer a meal or snack instead of tea or water unless the person declines.

With this individual, I shared the type of flour (unga) I use both white and brown,  the oil type, olive oil, and sugar. This individual inquired if I make mandazi too?.  I stated that it is an avenue I have not excelled yet, though it is a working progress!.

As this individual departed the premises, they invigorated by saying, “Flo, keep this line open even after you have ended this great cause.”

A few weeks later, this individual placed an order of 25 white chapatis with sugar and another 25 brown chapatis with no sugar.

This other customer had reached out via voicenote about chapatis 20 of them to bring during her child birthday.  Am not sure how I missed this voicenote. This individual, on the day of the child’s birthday, highlighted the voice note she had sent about a week ago. Yeah, mimi Waruguru misses things 🤣🤣🤣. I made 20 chapatis, and they were dropped off.

A few days later, this individual feedback stated that when the family members were informed of chapatis in the home from mimi Waruguru. What followed after was the frequent visit to the kitchen for chapatis. Chapatis became the breakfast item with eggs 🤪🤣,  10am tea snack, snack time, lunch time with stew, 4pm tea, and  chapatis with honey..I was like honey..and this individual said yes honey!. Some people in my homestead add honey to their chapatis like we do pancakes 😂🤣.

Another customer requested that I make 30 chapatis.  I inquired about the preferred pick-up time. They said 4 pm because that is when my guests will be arriving. Been this individual had stated they have visitors,  I offered dropping off the chapatis. Once the chapatis were ready,  I had my daughter drop them on my behalf. I don’t offer this drop-off service. However, I offered because of how busy one can get when you are a host, ensuring all goes well before the guests arrive.

Another customer reached out via text message saying:-I had not seen your chapos for a good cause. Thanks to Shiku for posting it on WhatsApp status.
I’m boarding. Can I please get 20 chapos for Sato pickup, please. I am glad I saw the post on shiko WhatsApp status.

This individual  was informed that we have frequently posted on our WhatsApp status. Their response was, “I need to start looking at WhatsApp stories, I don’t remember to.”  Inquired on this order if the customer wants the chapatis all white, brown, mix,  with sugar, no sugar and pickup time.  Feedback from this individual was that the chapos are yummy. Had them for dinner today. Thegio.

In the last few weeks, I have been intentionally asking peoples preferences:-. White, brown, or mix chapatis, with sugar or no sugar.

My apologies if you were among my first customers, and I never asked about your preferences. In your next order, it is a question I will ask.

As I continue this path,  I remain humbled by people’s feedback, input, and continued support. I can not forget to thank this individual who has a membership in this particular store, enabling the purchase of the olive oil. I appreciate this individual because the two times I have called and requested assistance, this individual has been flexible and accommodative both times. In this journey called life, treating others they want you want to treated is vital.

Eckhart Tolle once said- “Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance.

As of today, we have a total of $405 dollars collected. Since the inception, 15 individuals have chosen to order chapatis through us and / or donated funds towards this needed cause.

We remain hopeful that new and repeated customers will come our way.

What I can say is that this is all God driven and God doing.

Stay tuned for part#3..

Much love ❤️

~Mimi Waruguru
