Describe a decision you made in the past that helped you learn or grow.
Treating all people I come across despite their backgrounds with dignity and respect.
Dignity means the right of an individual to be valued and respected for their own sake and be treated ethically. We all have dignity regardless of our circumstances or actions as a person.
Respect is to accept somebody, people for who they are, even when they are different from you or you don’t agree with them. It is also treating people with care and compassion.
As much as we may not agree with others, or we may not embrace their approach of handling chaos or arguments, the least we can do is respect their decision and walk away.
The end result has been that people have come back to say that despite you sharing your opinions and roadmaps with them, you did not question their decisions. They may have made mistakes, but you still allowed them to learn from their own turmoil and chaos.
To hear this kind of response, feedback was a bitter sweet at the same time assurance that some things are better left alone!.
Dignity and respect for others go a long way. Even though you never do anything for the person, they will remember you for how you treated them and made the feel.
Laurence Sterne once said– Respect for ourselves guides our morals and respect for others, guides our manners.
The scripture 1 Corinthians 16:14 says
Love compels us to honor the worth and dignity of every person we encounter.
Much love as always,
